About Jasmine Dance Troupe
The Jasmine Dance Troupe was established in February 2006, by a group of passionate and dedicated dance lovers from various professions. It has experienced unprecedented growth under the expert instruction of Professor Lanwei Ji.
Professor Ji is the former director and professor of the Dance Research Department of the Central University for Nationalities in Beijing; the most reputable academy in Chinese Folk Dance. She has been dancing and teaching for over 40 years, has trained successful dance professionals, and remains an acknowledged authority in the field of Chinese folk dancing.
In addition to the dedication of Professor Ji, the dance troupe attributes its success to the enthusiasm of its members. The troupe’s goals include the preservation and promotion of the art of Chinese dance, and the celebration of diversity within the American culture. To date, the Jasmine Dance Troupe has performed in numerous Chinese New Year and Moon Festival celebrations, in Chinese schools, local community events, companies and colleges.
